Senior Picture information:

Senior pictures are ready to preview.  Your child has been given a flyer with all of the details from St. John for you to preview and order pictures.  If you order by September 2nd, you will receive free delivery to the school and 15% off.


Senior make up pictures:
If you child wasn't able to make it to the original Senior picture day, the make up days are as follows:

  • September 19th   (Casual)   during lunch
  • September 22nd  (Formal)   during lunch

Announcements for the Week of August 22, 2016

Upcoming events:

  • August 25                  High School Curriculum night 5:30 pm
  • September 5              NO SCHOOL  LABOR DAY
  • September 12            Parent Night 6:00 pm
  • September 15            Chapel (9:30 am, new time) Honors dress required

Student Drivers:
  • Any student driving to school must have a student driver form signed by a parent and filed with the HS office.  The fee is $10.00.  
  • There have been students speeding and revving engines in the parking lot.  If a student driver is caught doing these things, they will lose their driving privileges.  There are no warnings this year.
High School Curriculum Night:
Please join your child's teachers on Thursday, August 25 beginning at 5:30 pm to discuss the expectations of the year. Please bring your child's schedule so you will be able to walk each class. You will begin in their 1st block class and when dismissed, you will then go to their 2nd block, etc

For your convenience and ease of ordering, HGCS apparel has moved all spirit wear sales online! (It is also available on the school app) Apparel will no longer be sold in person at the school so be sure to order all of your spirit wear while the online shop is open.



Please ensure you place all orders by Wednesday September 7th at midnight. Orders will be individually packed and delivered to HGCS within 3 weeks of the store closing date.

Announcements for the week of August 1


All 9th graders will receive a chrome book this year.  Please follow these guidelines to get registered for a chrome book session if you haven't already:
  • Returning rising 9th grade students, click here for very detailed directions.  
  • New 9th grade students, click here for directions.
A parent and student must attend together.  If you can't attend on the dates given, you will need to email Michele Wilson at michelewilson@hgchristian.org and give your name and student's name and you will be required to attend the make up session.  Chromebooks will not be given out unless all 
requirements are full filled.

Senior Portraits:  Senior Portraits will be taken August 15th.  Click here for details on times and dress recommendations.

High School Summer Reading:  This summer reading will be formatted a bit differently than previous years since the high school is switching to the 4 X 4 block scheduling. Some students will have English the fall of 2016, others the spring of 2017. All students will still be required to read during the summer months and to finish any activities associated with the reading. Completed summer reading assignments will be due for all students the second week of school. A SMART lunch session will be held during the first week of school to give students who will be taking English in the spring an opportunity to meet with his/her English teacher to discuss any questions he/she might have concerning the summer reading assignment before submission.

Schedule change requests:
Thank you for your patience as your schedule requests are being processed.  Mr. Lineberger is completing in the order they were received.  He expects that the changes should be completed by next Friday.

Student Authorization forms are due now.  Click here for the form.  You can either email it to michelewilson@hgchristian.org, or fax it to 704-566-7510.

Senior class Dominican Trip:  Click here for trip details.  Copy of passport and all paperwork due to the HS office by October 3, 2016.

Back To School Bash.  Join us August 15 for our Back to School Bash:
  • 4:00-5:30             Meet the teachers
  • 5:30-6:00             Back to School assembly in the Worship Center with Head of School
  • 6:00-7:00             Eat & Greet and games for kids on the field (concessions will be open)
  • 7:00                     Soccer game (free of charge)
Welcome back to school:  August 17.  Car line begins at 7:20.  The tardy bell rings at 7:45.
