Week of May 22, 2017 Announcements

School Dismissal for Tuesday and Wednesday
On Tuesday, May 23rd, students will be dismissed at 12:00 pm due to exams. All students need to be off campus by 12:15 pm. Buses will run to North campus.

On Wednesday, May 24th, High School dismisses at 12:00.  All students need to be off campus by 12:15 am.  Buses will run to North Campus

 Blog Information
This is the last weekly blog.  We will randomly send out information during the summer .  We hope you and your family have a great summer. School will start on Monday, August 14 and the Back to school bash will be Friday August 11.

  • May 22 HGCS Golf Tournament (rescheduled from 4/24 rain out)
  • May 22 Chrome book/charger turned in, lockers cleaned out.
  • May 23-24 Exams
  • May 24 Last day of school 1/2 day

May 15, 2017 Announcements

Parents of Rising Seniors

The non refundable $100.00 deposit for the Dominican trip is due May 16.  You may either pay by check (made out to HGCS) or you may pay through Brushfire, click here for details.

Parents of Seniors

The running of the halls for the Class of 2017 has been changed to Wednesday, May 17 at 1;30.

Chromebook Return/Locker Clean Out

On May 22, students will be turning in their chrome books and chargers so work can be done on them over the summer.
Lockers will be cleaned out May 22,

Parents of Athletes

Save the date for this year's Heart of a Champion event with Carolinas Healthcare System! HGCS will participate in the event on June 3rd. This event serves as a FREE sports physical and heart screening, and it is available for student-athletes in grades 9-12. Participants must register online at CarolinasHealthCare.org/Heart-of-a-Champion between May 1st and May 28th. ALL participants must ride the bus from HGCS to the event site--parents may NOT drop off students at the event site. CHS will be releasing our school's arrival and screening time soon.

HGCS Parents,

The 2016-2017 school year Renweb Parent Portal will be closed on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. 

For those parents who have not re-enrolled for the 2017-2018 school year and plan on doing so, you must submit your re-enroll application by Tuesday, June 6, 2017.   If you do not plan to re-enroll, please note that June 6 will be the last day that you have access to your Renweb Parent Portal and will be able to print final report cards.  If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions Office at 704-531-3589.

For those parents who have re-enrolled, your 2017-2018 Renweb Parent Portal will re-open on Monday, June 19, 2017.

Spring Sports Banquet
This year's Spring Sports Banquet will be held on Monday, May 8 at 6:30pm in Gyms A/B for all spring Varsity teams. Dinner will be served, and we will recognize award winners for each team. All spring Varsity athletes and their immediate families are invited to attend.

Year End Renweb Information


HGCS Parents,

The 2016-2017 school year Renweb Parent Portal will be closed on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

Box Top Collection
It’s time to turn in those Box Tops that you’ve been saving.  Our next collection date will be Friday, May 5th. If possible, please place Box Tops in bags of 50.  Label bags with your student’s name, grade and homeroom teacher. Please do not include any expired Box Tops.  Thank you for helping out your school!!
