It is with great anticipation and pride that I share with you the graduation guidelines for the class of 2017. We have established several traditions that we hope will create lasting memories for you and your graduate. Please review the list of important dates.
On Friday, April 21st we will have a Senior Recognition Program at 8:00 am in the worship center. We will recognize our seniors with special awards and honors for their service in various clubs and organizations.
On Sunday, May 21st we will have a Baccalaureate and Recognition Service beginning at 5:00 pm in the Family Life Center. Formal invitations to this event have been mailed home. At this event we will recognize our seniors with awards and special honors. We will show a special family memory slide show. Please click here for information regarding how you can participate in the slide show. All students are required to attend and participate in the service.
Graduation will be held on Friday, May 26th at 6:00 pm in the worship center. There is no limit to the number of people families can invite. Please be aware there is no reserved seating for family and guest just the graduates. Following the service we will have a cake and punch reception in gyms A/B. Tables will be assigned for you to decorate with your commemorative display of trophies, pictures, awards, and memorabilia of your senior. Click here to see an example of a typical table display. Feel free to decorate your table anyway you like.
Each family will have access to ½ of an eight foot round table covered with a white tablecloth. Access to setup your display area will be on Friday 5/26 from 8:00-3:00.
The following dress is required for Senior Recognition Program, Baccalaureate and Graduation ceremonies:
Senior Recognition Program Dress
Students are asked to wear a t-shirt from the college/university he/she is planning on attending. If students are undecided he/she can wear normal Friday dress code apparel.
Baccalaureate and Graduation Dress
Women: Underneath the graduation gown young ladies should wear the following:
A solid color dress
Dresses must be modest and may have sleeves or be sleeveless but not strapless.
No halter or backless dresses
Dressy black or navy shoes (no heels over 3 inches)
No flip flops or casual sandals
Dress should come to the knee and must not exceed the graduation gown length
Graduation Cap (only worn for graduation ceremony)
Men: Underneath the graduation gown young men should wear the following:
Black dress slacks
Black dress shoes
Black dress socks
White dress shirt
Blue and/or gold necktie or bowtie
Graduation Cap (only worn for graduation ceremony)
