Week of March 26, 2018


The Spring Spirit Store is now open! This is a great time to stock up on your HGCS Lions gear! Orders will be accepted until March 31st and will be delivered to HGCS to be distributed to your student. Please be sure to include your child's name, grade and teacher with your order. Middle school, please list your 3rd period teacher, high school, please list your 1st block teacher.



On April 30, 2018, HGCS will hold our 19th Annual Golf Tournament at Pine Lake Country Club in Charlotte, NC. Over the years, this golf tournament has proven to be one of the most profitable fundraisers for our school. This year the AAA Booster Club has set a goal of $30,000.

Funds from this year's tournament will be used primarily to fund projects such as additional Promethean Boards, a greenhouse for the Aquaponics science lab and for a future purchase of a new video scoreboard in the gym.

We hope you would consider participating or donating to this worthwhile event. There are multiple sponsorship opportunities available for individuals and businesses starting at the $150 level all the way up to $5000.

Class of 2018 Lawn Sign

The Class of 2018 Lawn Sign is designed for you to celebrate your Senior by displaying it proudly in your yard throughout the year, for special occasions and of course for graduation. If you did not have a chance to order your sign in the fall or would like to purchase another one, we are now taking orders for a limited time.

Sign Details:
* 18” x 24”
* heavy duty coroplast
* stakes included
Orders should be placed online at https://hgchristian.brushfire.com/events/438672 . All orders must be received by Monday, March 26th, 2018. Orders after this date will not be accepted.
* $20* full-color

You will be notified by email when the signs are ready to be picked up in the High School office (around mid-April).

April 16-18, Spring pictures will be taken during lunch for 9th-11th graders. Students must be in school dress code which includes a collared shirt. 9th grade pictures will be 4/16, 10th grade will be 4/17 and 11th grade will be 4/18

Week of March 19, 2018

Missions Chapel

Please join us this Thursday at 9:30 am for Missions Chapel.  You will get to see Hickory Grove students at work in Missions in the Dominican and locally.

Class Ring Orders

Tomorrow, a representative from Herff Jones will return during lunch to pick up any class ring orders.  They will return Friday for any last minute orders.

Senior Cap and Gown Pictures

Early bird special for ordering cap and gown pictures will end March 22. The early bird special includes free delivery to school, and 15% off with a $25.00 minimum.  You may contact St. John at 704.889.7800 for details.


Report Cards are now available to print and view. The last day to print will be March 23.

Report Cards are now available to print and view. The last day to print will be March 23.

Parent Night

Tuesday, March 13 at 6 PM.
Come learn about our process and time line for scheduling your student's classes for next year. We will also discuss course offerings, AP, Honors, and Dual Enrollment, the AP Capstone Program, and how we plan to honor student academic achievement for the class of 2021 and beyond.

Report Cards

Report Cards will be available to print beginning March 9 and the last day to print will be March 23.
