Week of September 25, 2017

Parents of Seniors
Herff Jones will be visiting Hickory Grove during lunch on October 3 to meet with the Seniors to pass out graduation packets.    They will return on October 11 to pick up any graduation orders.  The make up order pick up day will be October 17.



Spirit Week




 Join us tonight for the JV football game at 4:30 and then at 6:30 the High School girls will be in competition with each other at a game of Powder Puff.



Make up pictures
If your child missed the original picture day, make up pictures will be Friday, September 29.  Collared shirts are required for the pictures.

With Spirit Week in full swing, let’s continue our school pride by turning in your summer
Box Top collections.  As a reminder, at the beginning of summer we asked you to save
your Box Tops.  We will award Chick-fil-A prizes to the Elementary,  Middle and High
school students that collects the most Box Tops.  Please submit labels in a ziploc bag
with your child’s name, grade, and homeroom teacher (High school, turn into the High school office).  It would be helpful if you could put them in bags of 50 Box tops.  The Box Tops are due by Friday, September 29th.

Carpool Need

Our two boys, Andrew in 10th and Connor Jones in 8th, are in need of carpooling, for one or both. To complicate things Andrew has football after school.  So we are looking for ride-sharing to school and for at least Connor to get home. We are also looking at the football team to get Andrew home.  Any assistance would be great and we can work out arrangements to share, or pay, if necessary.  We are looking for a solution to keep Connor after school until Andrew finishes football if that will help. This is for the Davis Lake area.

Chapel
Please make plans to join us for our first school chapel.  It will be on Thursday, September 14 at 9:30 am in the Worship Center. Students will be expected to be in Honors dress.

"5th Quarter" Cornhole Tournament


Join us for the "5th Quarter" Cornhole Tournament immediately following the Varsity Football home game on Friday, September 15th in Gyms A & B!

Registration is open to for high school and middle school students, parents, and teachers. High school and middle school students and parents can sign up for $10 per team of two (cash only). Teachers may register a team of two for free. Sign-ups will be held with Mrs. Rhodes from September 11th-15th during lunch. The deadline to register a team is the end of lunch on Friday, September 15th. 

All money collected from the tournament will go to missions and hurricane relief efforts.

ShoppingBoss Fundraiser Starts Today!



HGCS Families! We are so excited to launch our 1st of two school wide fundraisers of the year today! Every student will receive information about the ShoppingBoss fundraiser as well as a letter from our Head of School, Dr. Quesinberry, about why this fundraiser is vitally important for HGCS. If by chance a letter did not make its way to you this afternoon, you can find it HERE . Our goal is for each student to sell at least two ShoppingBoss cards and because we know we have students who go above and beyond, a prize will be awarded to the top individual seller in each school as well as a pizza party for the grade who sells the most. Thank you for supporting HGCS!

Class T-shirts
Class t-shirts are now for sale.  You may order through Brushfire.  Orders will be accepted today through Sunday, September 8.  Once orders close on Sunday, students will not be able to order.  We have a deadline to make sure we get the shirts before Spirit Week. Click here to order.  Orders will not be accepted in person.  Please use Brushfire to order.
